Green candidate Stuart Leckie will make a difference
Glaswegians have been hit hard by an ongoing recession and the rising cost of everything from bread to bus tickets. Youth unemployment is behind a new generation demonstrating their desire for change through the Occupy movement.
All the while we have a city chamber that would rather bicker than protect jobs and services from the axe.
There is an alternative, and Green councillors, including Hillhead's Martha Wardrop, have been leading the way.
Greens are fighting the developments that put private profit before communities, like in Otago Lane.
Greens oppose the outsourcing of our democracy to unaccountable 'Arms-Length Organisations' such as Glasgow Life who are cutting 300 jobs in our libraries and sports facilities.
Greens are working on stronger environmental standards for our homes and workplaces, and support the regeneration of unused land into homes and community spaces, as with the Woodlands Community Garden.
Vote Scottish Green Party on November 17th. Because every Green Councillor makes a difference.
